BOZ

The Buena Onda Zahora (BOZ) couple needed to renew their website with a fresh and different look to promote their tourist rental space in the south of Spain

Task

For the redesign of the website a small research was carried out with former clients and owners of BOZ to find out what were the strengths they expected to find in the new website and what were their needs. With the conclusions we presented to the client a proposal with updated information architecture (navigation menu) and a very functional minimalist design.

Challenge

Make a web redesign that mixes usability with an attractive design

Organizing the information after the research I found that the needs of the users were of different typologies for this reason in the header with the navigation menu the user would find: Home, Nuestra Historia, Dormir en Buena Onda, Bread and breakfast, El entorno, Galería y Contacto.

Many of the bookings they receive is by contact via Whatsapp so we would have to find a way to facilitate this access to the user from the web. And another reason to take into account is that people from all over the world stay in their facilities, so they needed a website with translation functionality. 

Both functionalities had to be included in the launch and present in the navigation of the entire website, but not too invasive in terms of design and so as not to «overwhelm» the user.

What i do

In terms of UI decisions we have made good usability practices and taken into account the responsive layout

In the navigation menu we find the hover status of the different buttons.

We have implemented the use of three very different typographies but at the same time they fit perfectly together, these are: Allura that highlights comments about the section, Antic Didone for section titles and Belleza for the body text.

The images have been edited with Kodak Portra filters to give them a lively look with some noise.

In the image gallery we have chosen to move away from the carousel and we have preferred to bring a fun game in the composition of the images.

What i do

Interface design, thought in the adaptation to work in the mobile "friendly" version

Responsive design to allow the BOZ website to rescale according to the device being used to view it. The website will adapt to different screen sizes without rendering issues and to work well for both mobile and desktop platforms, as the website realigns its appearance accordingly.

Implementation of content that does not weigh too much to optimize the loading speed in images and videos, so that the speed is optimal and the user experience even better.
